THIS IS FOR LA RAZA

Tomorrow I will painting the infamous Galeria de la Raza wall here in San Francisco. I cant express how surprised I was when they approached me and asked if I would do the honor. I was supposed to paint the wall this weekend but the the weather made that impossible. Wish me luck!

MY OM AWAY FROM HOME

Last week was the opening for the group show I was involved in at the OM Records lounge space. This was a last minute project but I jumped on the opportunity when it was presented. OM Records has been a staple in the music scene here in SF with many artists who Im sure many of you are familiar with. It was a great opening/ raging party and thank you to all that showed up (Jacob and Cynthia from Fresno and Sifry and the crew from Los Angeles) and supported I hope it was as much fun for you as it was for me.

NO SLEEP TIL'

With just four hours of sleep I managed to somehow start and finish this piece in a little under six hours and now it is time for some much needed rest.  Thank you to the La Tribe and La Lemon crews for coming by and supporting.  More to come this week!

SURROUNDED BY GIANT(S)

Thank you to Andres of Guerrero Gallery for inviting me to paint here in San Francisco. This wall is located in Caledonia alley in the heart of San Franciscos' Mission District. Painting this wall is like a dream come true as I have always wanted to have a wall down one of the many alley ways in SF where people from all around the world come and see (I remember doing the same as a youth). And on top of all that my work is surrounded by local heroes from the past to the present. This is just is just the beginning of this project.

CUT UP

So the "EVEN FLOW" show is only a few days away and the gallery started leaking photos of the pieces I have on display so I figured I can do the same.  Here are some progress pics I took of the block pieces I made and close ups of the mirror pieces which I still need to figure out a way to take without me being in the photo. All of these pieces you see are related to each other in one way or another through the use of shared designs that I gathered from the large piece on the wall in my studio. Some of the designs you see are current and others from past projects.

CHANGE IS GOOD

Some of you may remember this wall from the "West Oakland" video I did almost two years ago (man time flies). Well it was used as a nice backdrop for some beef and I was given the option to let the city paint the entire wall or create a new piece. Instead of coming up with a new design for the wall I decided to just add to the buffed areas on the wall and extend the work around the other side of the building. Its kind of wired how things happen, I was actually in talks of doing this wall over a few weeks back and kind of (kind of) glad this happened in a way as it works perfectly with a new series of works Im creating. I was greated with loud "thanks you's" from the buliding across the way. You are welcome and thank you for the love Oakland.
